During massage school I was fascinated with anatomy and physiology. Under the tutelage of Dr. Stan Grimmel, DC, I was amazed at what I was learning about the human body and all of its systems, and how everything worked together to produce these amazing vessels. During massage school I was fascinated with anatomy and physiology. Under the tutelage of Dr. Stan Grimmel, DC, I was amazed at what I was learning about the human body and all of its systems, and how everything worked together to produce these amazing vessels. I also learned the importance of including massage in our personal health programs (I get massage every two weeks, religiously!). Even more importantly, I learned the importance of being one integrated part of a client's health TEAM. I believe that when you have a team (Medical Doctor, Physical Therapist, Chiropractor, Personal Trainer, et al,) working together to provide you the best knowledge and current practices in all of our fields, YOU benefit greatly. Through SOAP notes, communication with your other health providers, and regular massage, I can help provide you exactly what your body needs to not only overcome chronic pain, but to help you maintain a healthy homeostasis.
After graduating from Loraine's Academy in St. Petersburg, FL, I began immersing myself in continuing education to learn as much as I could to be the best therapist I could be, obtaining certifications in Neuromuscular Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Medical Massage Therapy and others. Two modalities resonated with me above all others, Spontaneous Muscle Release Technique (SMRT) and Medical Massage Cupping due to the speed with which these modalities get deep into the tissues to address imbalances while not causing the client pain like more traditional NMT and Trigger Point work.
It's not just your back!
Some studies suggest that over 60% of adults experience some kind of low back pain. It doesn't need to be that way.
I specialize in working with clients who experience pain in their necks or backs. Often the culprit is a muscular imbalance brought on by an injury, poor posture, or too much time sitting.
I help relax tired, overstressed muscles that are pulling bones out of alignment and bring them back to a more natural, healthy and flexible state.
You'll be surprised how quickly we can work together to make measurable improvements and get you feeling better.

Massage Therapy
As a new graduate I immediately began working in the field. I worked for Tryone Chiropractic and gained a wealth of experience with accident victims suffering from whiplash and other accident related issues as well as general aches and pains associated with poor posture, sitting too long, and other health related issues. The experience I gained was an invaluable part of my learning experience.
Working as a new therapist for a local Massage Envy was an incredible experience, helping me hone my craft and see a wide variety of clients seeking deep tissue work, swedish relaxation, reflexology, pregnancy massage and many other modalities.
For 8 years I was one of the owners of JD Salon and Spa on Central Ave in St. Petersburg, FL, where I was the sole massage therapist. Having my own, private massage studio allowed me to continue learning about my craft by being able to provide multiple modalites, including the use of hand tools and vacuum therapy equipment to provide a complete and individualized session to my clients.
One of the most notable experiences to date in my career was traveling around the country with Dawn Lewis, LMT of Full Circle School out of Denver Colorado. for a year and a half. Under Dawn's guidance I was full body certified in Spontaneous Muscle Release Technique. Traveling around the country teaching other therapists about this amazing modality invigorated me to educate not only therapists but clients about the effectiveness of this modality and its ability to get deep into the layers of muscle without causing clients the pain associated with traditional deep tissue work.
In 2019 I joined Cortiva Institue as a full time massage instructor, and continued for almost 2 years. I truly loved working with future licensed massage therapists and teaching them introductory Swedish massage, Anatomy and Physiology, and multiple modalities like Reflexology, Cranial Sacral, Deep Tissue and so many others. The pathaology classes were especially challenging and actually helped me to continue to expand my knowledge of the body, dysfunctions and how to modify massages to accomodate them. It was this experince that actually lead me to expand my private clientele and concentrate on my private business in a renewed fashion.
Currently I am renting space within St Pete Spinal Care, Dr. Stanley Grimmel, DC. Dr. Grimmel was my anatomy and physiology instructor at Lorraine's massage school. I feel like I am coming full circle with my career working alongside one of St. Pete's premier Chiropractors. He has been a mentor for many years, and working in a clinical setting with the ability to help his patients and refer mine to him just makes sense with the style of therapeutic massage I offer.
