I made an appt for a hot stone massage and I got confirmations for such. Discussed with therapist that I have fibromyalgia. Somehow my hot stone massage turned into a therapeutic massage. I kept saying "ow....that hurts" but no matter how many times I said "OW", she kept doing the same thing. Not only was the the pressure too hard, she had my arm behind my back with her knee under my shoulder! I finally just stopped saying anything and hoped it would be over soon. Thankfully it was cut short because I was a few mins late(had a hard time finding the place.)
The massage might've been great for someone else but definitely not for someone with fibro. I should've just told her to stop and left. The whole reason I get massages is to NOT have to take pain meds. After that massage I was in 10X more pain than before I got there. The next day, I felt like I'd been beaten up. Oh, and NO hot stones were used. I'm disappointed because I've been looking for somewhere to get massages regularly but I can't go to someone that doesn't listen to the client.
