If you have chronic pain, Alex is the person to see. He is extremely knowledgeable about movement/anatomy and is the one massage therapist I have found in the city that has several different modalities to treat your pain. As a nurse, I really appreciate someone that understands how our nervous system can play a huge part in how our body can react to pain, and Alex pays attention to that throughout the massage. Alex really cares about his clients, and in combination with his years of experience, and continued learning, he is truly a gift to the New Orleans area.

I went for some pretty specific shoulder discomfort. Alex did a great job of assessing the complaint and then working specifically to address my issue. He also does a great job of managing expectations; letting me know what the massage could do for me and then making recommendations for things to talk about with my primary caregiver so I could be proactive about getting to the root of the issue and addressing the underlying habits/behaviors. Alex is very professional and I appreciate his straightforward, therapeutic approach. He creates a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere, but it's not a faux froo-froo experience where you're expected to just zone out for an hour and enjoy the experience. Most importantly, the results were great. I have significantly more mobility and some great ideas about things I can do differently that won't exacerbate my shoulder pain, and should eventually alleviate it.

Struggling with a recent injury, I discovered Alex through the research of a LMT friend. Alex has nearly 2 decades experience working with clients and it shows in his thoroughness, professionalism, and empathy. I work a high stress job with long hours sitting at a computer. Alex’s extensive knowledge of the body and menu of modalities set me on a whole new treatment path from the one I’d been following routinely. Unfortunately, not being local to New Orleans I will have to find a LMT that can work with me in similar fashion to Alex. Alex truly understands the anatomy of your body, and works the massage accordingly. I’ve had chronic back pain in my shoulders for over a decade due repetition from sports. Over that time I have had many deep tissue massages in attempt to loosen things up back there, and have always had only temporary relief (sometimes a week, sometimes 2 weeks). I have been treated by Alex a few times now, and for the first time, not only am I able to go over a month between sessions (pain free), but the muscle issue is actually beginning to improve. Alex genuinely wants to understand what’s going on with you, and utilizes his skills to conquer the challenge. He is professional, personable, and timely. I’ve been to many practitioners, but I have never been to one as talented as Alex. It goes without saying, but I highly recommend him.

He listens intently to your goals for your session & draws from his in-depth knowledge to quickly assess which modalities will deliver the best results. I came in to my most recent session looking to address several areas of acute pain. He did a quick pre-assessment including a range of motion test, then used cupping, rock blades, myofascial release, & other modalities to work on these key areas. At the end, I not only felt much better, we could also see immediate tangible results in my post-assessment range of motion test. He went the extra mile & checked in with me the next day to see how I was doing & offer self-care tips. Days later I continued to improve & feel better from his work. I don't know anyone in this city who has the knowledge and range of skills that Alex has. Alex’s astute assessment skills are unparalleled in the city. He was able to hone in on areas that I did not realize were the root of some of my issues. I did not realize that I had a pinched nerve affecting my left arm when I presented for my first appointment. After my first session with Alex my arm felt lighter, like it was floating in extremely salty water, making my arm feel bouyant as I moved it freely through the air for the first time in over 8 years.
Further, I suffer with back pain since an injury early this year. It has been a struggle coping with the pain day to day. However, Alex’s extensive knowledge base and skillset are helping me manage the pain! Using multiple modalities including taping, cupping, scraping, etc. as adjuncts to his skilled massage practice Alex is able to achieve the best outcomes for his patients. Excellent bedside manner, extremely professional. Highly recommend!!
