Silahis Loyola

The short girl with pointy elbows who likes Tai Chi, actually any kind of martial arts

I became a massage therapist by chance when I dropped out of the nursing program and it turns out I enjoy massage therapy more than nursing. I discovered I preferred the natural, holistic, and alternative approach versus consuming pharmaceutical drugs to alleviate my symptoms or condition, specially after being in the nursing program. Now every now and then I still do take certain medicine but usually it is my last option.

About me, I went to Avalon School of Massage which was a great investment in my opinion. When I was younger I studied a little bit of martial arts but it was not until I started learning Tai Chi that I discovered what it means to workout and learn martial arts at the same time. Aside from that, my hobbies, passion, and interests are reading, photography, watching movies, and traveling.

As far as my massage therapy session, I have evolved from doing a general full body massage to really concentrating on specific area, symptoms, and issue my clients are experiencing. That said, I seldom provide a full body massage instead I will use the full hour or the requested length of time where it is needed. Over the years, I have discovered that my clients get a better relief when I concentrate on the section or area that needs the work. My clients will receive a combination of techniques and modalities such as deep tissue, trigger point, and stretching/sports massage during the massage session. Some of the issues clients come for are headache, neck pain, back pain (upper and lower), carpal tunnel, plantar faciitis, and limited range of motion. I am working inside Kinetic Massage Works.
