After a short career as a neuroscientist, Jeri realized that she really wanted to experience the mind-body connection, not just study it. That's when she started dancing and exploring various natural health practices. Soon she found she had a gift for therapeutic touch, and began formal bodywork training at the Ohashi Institute in NYC in 2005.
She continued at Soaring Crane Massage in Seattle (Thai yoga bodywork), and finally graduated from Touchstone Healing Arts in Burlington in 2008. Since then she has done advanced training in myofascial release and prenatal/postnatal massage, and has received informal training through work in chiropractic settings.
She offers both injury and wellness care, full-body relaxation and focused work on specific areas of pain/tension. She uses a blend of modalities to meet your needs for each session: swedish, deep-tissue, myofascial unwinding, trigger point therapy, lymphatic/circulatory flush, acupressure, and reflexology. She may also rotate your joints, offer passive stretches, or suggest home-care ideas after your session.
In addition to table massage, Jeri also offers on-site chair massage at workplaces or events in the greater Burlington area.
Her ultimate goal is to provide clients with a chance to reconnect with their whole self, let go of tension and extra holding/thinking/worry, and simply to surrender for a brief moment to the quiet simplicity of sensation.
When she's not in the massage studio she can be found at the playground with her toddler, editing scientific manuscripts, gardening, making herbal medicines, or enjoying time in the outdoors.
