I grew up in a small town in Minnesota, not knowing that professional bodyworkers existed. "Massage Therapy," to me, referred to luxurious spa treatments available only to people of a higher economic standing than anyone I knew personally. Chronic pain and repetitive strain injuries were abundant in my family, and I instinctively sought to ease their discomfort. Through these early, unwitting experiences, I gained a unique tactile understanding of the constantly fluctuating state of the body's tissues.
Having dreamed of beautiful waves, ocean sunsets and a surfer lifestyle for many years, in 2012 my fiancé and I decided to uproot our little family from the midwest and relocate to the Charleston, SC area. That same year, I enrolled at Southeastern Institute and received a higher education in the structure and function of the human body, which had fascinated me since early childhood. There I ultimately earned my certification and licensure as a Clinical Neuromuscular Therapist. I have been working in the field consistently since graduation, with experience in massage spa, chiropractic and mobile establishments.
These days, when I'm not working with clients or studying and developing bodywork technique, I can often be found somewhere in the great Atlantic off my favorite spot on Folly Beach. hide
