I have always wanted to help people out of pain and into a place where they realize that the things in their lives which hurt them can be altered and removed.  Though massage, I achieve that dream as I feel muscles soften and sometimes years of tension release.  Sometimes this tension is more mental than physical which is a wonderful side effect of working with the mind/body connection.  It is extraordinarily gratifying to be able to have someone leave my table moving and feeling so much better than when they lay down.
Through active listening, intuitive touch, and expert application of appropriate techniques, I work to stimulate the body's innate healing abilities.  Essentially, I pay attention to you so I know what to do to help you heal you!  I am working toward a specialty in the treatment and management of chronic and recurring pain, especially migraines/headaches and low back/hip complaints.
I will employ whatever techniques I have at my disposal which I have gained through my formal training, receiving massage, watching massage, and research to help you achieve your wellness goals.  My most often employed techniques are Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release and Unwinding, SMRT, and energy work.
For me, massage is a therapy that provides clients a space to heal.  So often we are "too busy" to take time for ourselves, to truly check in with our state of being, to assess our connections to all of our different facets.  When we set aside time for a massage, we set aside time to be completely connected to ourselves without guilt or worry or outside intrusions and this little bit of breathing room can have huge impact on how we treat ourselves throughout the rest of the week as well as how we interact with others.  Even when there is no specific pain or ailment that needs addressed, massage is one of the major tools we can employ to bring ourselves back into mental/emotional/physical balance.  That in and of itself is healing.  However, my favorite clients are those who can begin to or already realize that the power of healing lies solely within themselves; I'm just a facilitator.  When clients understand this is when we can truly see lasting change.

Rhiannon is very thoughtful and very good. She made sure that I had an excellent experience by creating an atmosphere where I felt comfortable letting her know what I needed. Highly recommend.

i have gone to several massage therapist. I first met Rhiannon at the Farmers Market on Atlantic Ave. My shoulder was hurting up into my neck. She was giving chair massages. My shoulder and neck felt so much better after the massage; i could hardly believe it. I called her for a regular massage; it's now history. I go on a regular schedule. I am always recommending Philosopher's Stone Therapeutic Massage. I am so delighted and thankful I found her.

Rhiannon puts you at ease right away with her friendly demeanor. She is very knowledgeable and skilled in the science and art of her craft. She just doesn't give you a massage, she teaches you about yourself, how what she does csn help you, and what you can do to help yourself.

First time getting a massage - great experience and very relaxing. Helped relieve neck/shoulder tension, and had good input on what to do to loosen up on my own as well. Will definitely be back.
