I attended Lake Superior College in Duluth, MN, and became a certified massage therapist August 2001.  All through childhood I was very athletic and loved sports, but I developed scoliosis early on.  When I was 14 years old, I had back surgery to lessen the curve in my spine.  After dealing with the up's and down's of surgery, I knew that I wanted to work in the healthcare field.  I wanted to help others be able to relax, manage their pain, and if possible become free of pain.  Over the years I have worked as an employee, independent contractor, and for the last 10 years owned my own massage therapy business.  I have learned many techniques and styles of massage, but have enjoyed focusing more on deep tissue, trigger point therapy, sports massage, and pregnancy massage.  I have also become a certified birth doula, certified fertility massage therapist, and been able to attend multiple births both in hospital  and home birth settings.  It brings great joy being able to offer support through pregnancy, labor, and delivery to mom and partner, being able to assist them in the type of birthing experience they want!  I am very blessed to be able to do what I love and help those who really need relief from every day stressors!
