Integrated Massage & Bodywork Session

Using integrated bodywork, we use all of our training, intuition, experience and expertise to get to the root cause of your health issues. We ask you several questions to get details about your condition so that we can customize a care plan to your needs. We alternate modalities in each treatment session as needed and use moderate-to-deep pressure, depending on the status of your pain. We always evaluate sessions with you to determine the ideal path forward for your optimal treatment.

Myofascial Release (MFR)

This is a treatment for someone aiming to resolve chronic pain, tension, or discomfort. We use sustained pressure and longer holds on restricted areas to stretch the connective tissue and create space for surrounding muscles and joints. Myofascial release is performed mostly without lotions, tools or machines. Patients typically wear shorts and women also wear a sports bra.

Traditional Thai Massage

Traditional Thai massage is deeply therapeutic in that it contacts deep layers of fascia tissue. Clients are fully clothed on a floor mat while practitioner uses ropes to stretch, compress and walk on the body.

Wendy noticed that many students, as a sports instructor and coach, who had incurred injury or whose muscles were fatigued, benefited from massage. As an athlete herself, she regularly received massage before competitions. She kept her dreams on hold until 2002 when she earned a 1000-hour certificate in Integrated Massage at the Golden Institute of Massage in Golden, CO.
Enthused with this knowledge, and combined with her personal experience and natural athletic ability, Wendy provides a strong, firm touch integrated with an intuitive energetic sense of body mechanics. She opened her first practice in 2003 at Bikram's Yoga Studio, Golden, CO. Since that time, she has expanded her growing practice now located at 1300 Jackson St, Ste 200B in Golden, CO. Heather Salter graduated from the Atlanta School of Massage in 1996. This was hands down the best massage I've ever gotten in my life! At first I wasn't sure if I would like the traditional Thai massage but I'm completely sold on it. It felt like every muscle in my body got worked and I felt completely rejuvenated and energized at the end of it. This client arrived 20 minutes late to his first time appointment. He was called and ask to came 15 minutes early and arrived 20 minutes past his scheduled time. Extra time was given but not the full hour. Covid-19 has extra precautions of cleaning required. There is not a lot of time between clients.

Wendy was incredibly skilled and gave a great massage however, during the massage, our conversation was very unsettling. Prior to the massage, while filling out the paper work, I listed that I had PTSD. She dug into this and pushed me to tell her that my PTSD was caused by sexual assault. During the massage, she talked about sexual assault which was very triggering and stressful. Later in the massage, she used the word n***** several times while talking about her African American friends. It was incredibly offensive. She even went on to argue that teachers (my profession) make too much money and that she works way harder than I do but gets paid less. She finally ended the massage with several incredibly offensive attempts at speaking what I can only assume was Chinese. Overall, these horribly racist and offensive comments made me feel really uncomfortable and eager to leave. I did not feel relaxed, nor could I really pay attention to how my body was feeling.

Business response:

I shared my experience to try to make Tanya feel more comfortable. Teachers work hard and make less money than deserved. I wasn't disagreeing. Also, Massage Therapist work hard too and get paid even less. We talked about the word Masseuse has an negative condentation to my work. She left happy and content with the treatment. Tanya never showed any concerns to our sharing. I'm shock, confused and sorry she felt this way. Please call to talk about this.

Wendy is amazing. I came to her with a herniated disc and complicated hip injury. Before each session we discuss where I am at with pain. She does a visual evaluation and we discuss the areas she will work on. Throughout the massage we talk about her level of pressure she uses and how each area she is working on is connected. Since I started with Wendy, the speed of my injury recovery has been amazing. My ability to walk comfortably has returned compared to 8 months ago when I was injured.
