CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle modality that focuses on the structures of the cranium, spine, and sacrum as they influence your cerebrospinal fluid and rhythm of function. The goal of each session is to regain balance and unimpeded flow of the CS system, thereby affecting the body on a physical, neurological and emotional level. Advanced Therapeutic Massage

An advanced therapeutic massage session will always include a combination of techniques, including Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Positional Release, and Muscle Energy Technique. These modalities warm up and relax muscle tissue, providing a direct approach so that we are able to reach a much deeper state of relaxation and resolution to discomfort and limited function. Migraine and TMJD Treatment

Using massage and techniques from CST, we address the muscles inside the mouth and the jaw that influence dysfunction of the joint and create discomfort in the sinuses, middle ear and occiput. This is great relief for anyone struggling with grinding teeth and jaw clenching. This also provides relief of muscles that influence the structure of cervical spine, providing relief not regularly accessible by working on only the back and outside of the neck.

Pregnancy Massage

For all expecting Mothers, this 60 minute massage can help manage the aches and pains of pregnancy, especially within the last trimester. We use side lying positions and a number of pillows to keep Mom supported and relaxed throughout the session. I do not work with anyone before the second trimester (before 12 weeks) as a precaution. Packages are also a wonderful gift for expecting Mothers through pregnancy and after birth!

Cupping Massage

This technique is the ancient practice of applying glass cups to the skin. The inside of the cup is heated quickly and then applied to the skin creating a vacuum. As a result, the tissues lying underneath the cup are drawn up by the suction. The goal is to help relieve tension and adhesions in the fascia and muscular tissue by the inverse process usually provided by massage. This gives us a unique approach to treating long-standing tension, scar tissue and other issues that limit full function.

I’m Shawn Marie Jones and I have been working as a Licensed Massage Therapist here in NY for the last 12+ years. I graduated from the program of Therapeutic Massage and Integrative Health Care at FLCC in May of 2006. My goal in my bodywork is to identify and treat existing pain due to stress, injury, strains, sprains, compensation due to repetitive motion, and ultimately to help you manifest release and deep relaxation. Our approach through different techniques and modalities will continuously grow and evolve, just as our bodies and lives do, every day. I am continuously expanding my education through The Upledger Institute practicing CranioSacral Therapy, SomatoEomotional Release, the International Cupping Therapy Association in advanced Cupping Massage applications, and more. In 2017, I opened the Finger Lakes Office of Alternative Therapies (FLOAT). This is a growing project, with the goal of bringing multiple practitioners of Holistic Therapies and practices to a growing client base, here in the Finger Lakes. I’m looking forward to expanding on all that I have done here in the last 12 years and bringing more to my clients' health and needs.
