I have been massaging people for over 25 years, and over 15 years as a professional bodyworker. I love it! It's a way for me to connect to many people, and I enjoy very much getting the unique privilege to, quite literally, touch people's lives in a positive way. During these times, I have worked on over one-thousand different bodies and have had great success in treating minor to major problems including chronic pain, injury rehab, surgical rehab, sports-related issues, lack of mobility and a myriad of others including the big one...STRESS!!
Medical professionals agree that stress causes more negative conditions within the human body than anything else. While under stress, the human endocrine system undergoes measureable biochemical changes that weaken the immune system, promote pre-mature aging, cause digestive and bowel problems, lack of focus, lack of sleep and many other issues you may be aware of right now while reading this. These forces are powerful. I have seen and heard a lot in my time, and I DO know...these are the forces that shatter souls. When this happens, we as humans acquire vices, most of which are harmful and worsen the conditions of stress thus adding to the downward spiral. There's no doubt a healthy vice is in order, wouldn't you agree? Therapeutic touch is one of those.
I have been in various lines of work in my life and have met more than the average number of people most others ever do, whether those people are from here or there, believe in whatever they believe in or appear this way or that, and I pay attention to the various details of their personalities. It's a fascination. I have done bodywork on, waited on, served drinks to, instructed, sparred, played music with, been leaned on by and had about every other kind of interaction with literally tens of thousands of people in my current life's span. A profound lesson comes about when I compare the behavioral patterns I've noticed: as individual as we all feel on the inside, a basic truth is that we are all much more alike than we are different. Life takes its shots at all of us, and if our body, mind and spirit are out of whack, those shots take more of a toll.

This part could be very lengthy, so I will summarize with some of the more familiar modalities and their purposes: Swedish for basic relaxation, Deep Tissue (commonly mistaken for deep pressure) is a group of techniques that circumvent overlying structures to target underlying structures to relieve chronic pain, Neuromuscular Trigger-Point Therapy which reduces toxic "knots" that refer pain to other parts of the body (i.e. knots that cause migraines), Sports Massage for pre or post event athletic needs, Myofascial Release which softens, stretches and breaks apart tight or adhered connective tissue, and many others including Reiki, Reflexology, Carpal-Tunnel Syndrome, Sciatica, Thoracic-Outlet Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Psychoneuroimmunology and the list keeps going.
