Guillermo Ortega, (dance educator / Thai bodyworker) offers Integrated Thai bodywork and Chi Nei Tsang in Philadelphia. Massage can facilitate the body's natural tendency toward a relatively stable equilibrium between interdependent elements, which we call homeostasis or “feeling good”. Guillermo wants to help clients to achieve wellness and keen awareness of their own bodies through massage to achieve a sense of balance and freedom. His work as a dancer, dance teacher, and pilates instructor informs his massage practice and understanding of body mechanics, kinetic chains, and training potential. Guillermo’s massage journey started with traveling to Chiang Mai, Thailand between 2014 and 2018 to study Thai bodywork. While in Thailand, he completed GTC 300-hour Teacher Training program at Thai Massage School (TMC). There he also studied several Thai massage modalities such as Jack Chaiya’s Nerve Touch Technique, Thara massage technique, Tok Sen, Karen Hill, Trigger Point Thai Massage, Reflexology, and Chi Nei Tsang. Back in the USA, he studied between 2017-18 at the Philadelphia School of Massage and Bodywork, 700-hour training in Swedish massage, Sports massage, Trigger Points, Prenatal, and myofascial release among others. Past education includes a BFA in Contemporary Dance from the “Escuela Nacional de Danza Clasica y Contemporanea” in Mexico City as well as a MFA from Temple University. He is an adjunct professor at Rowan University and Temple University.
