Hi! My name is Jen Stroer and I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist in Edwardsville IL serving the St. Louis Metro Community in Bodywork Massage and Pain Management.

I attended The Body Therapy Center and School of Massage in Swansea IL in 2013 with a focus on Myofascial Release Therapy.
I certified in both Massage and Myofascial Release in Jan of 2014 and opened my own studio in June of that same year.
I have close to 1500 hours of hands on experience and have an absolute passion for helping people feel good in their own bodies!

My own journey to becoming an LMT began as I healed from a traumatic event, got off 15 years of prescription medications, cut out processed foods and lost over 80 pounds.  My education in Massage Therapy led me to discover the power and beauty of human touch and healing. I found that our bodies are amazing at healing when we give them the time and attention and specific work they need!

I don't believe in a one size fits all approach to the needs of my clients! Each client is given an evaluation and consultation and your 30,60,90 or 120 minute bodywork session doesn't begin until hands are on the body.

Swedish and Deep Tissue massage relaxes, energizes and integrates our whole bodies which do wonders as we deal with the stress and wear and tear on our bodies from just every day life.

I have had great success with Myofascial Release Therapy (see reviews!) which takes in mind the entire body's connective tissue and how it interferes with range of motion, flexibility, pain discomfort and ultimately restriction of activity.

Sports and Stretch massage looks at specific restrictions in muscle groups and allows me to help you prepare for athletic events as well a quicker recovery time after you've worked hard at your hobby and sports activities.

I named my business Harmony Bodywork & Massage because I believe the body, mind and spirit are three parts to the whole of who we are and they need to work together for us to be at our best! I get to know my clients and learn how their entire life style affects how they feel in their bodies and we work on anything from posture to breathing techniques to ensure that anything in my scope of practice that can help you does!

I didn't start my own journey to physical health until I was 43 years old.  I was looking at surgery for a pinched nerve, I was a type 2 insulin dependent diabetic, my liver enzymes were way out of range and most of all I did not feel good in my own body.

I had disconnected myself mentally and emotionally from my physical body and was in pain and tired all the time.
Bodywork & Massage was a catalyst to change all that for me.  I am on no prescription meds and have an A1-C of 5.1, I did not need surgery for the severe stenosis in my neck and my liver enzymes are all in the normal range.
I firmly believe that integrating body mind and spirit using Massage Therapy was the single most significant tool used to create such change.
So NO MATTER what your age or physical condition I would LOVE to be a part of your health regime- enabling you to be all you want to be!

Whether you just need to relax or you've been dealing with chronic pain let me help you get healthier and happier and love the body you've been given!

Be good to yourself! You deserve it!

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. This essential “time element” has to do with the viscous flow and the piezoelectric phenomenon: a low load (gentle pressure) applied slowly will allow a viscoelastic medium (fascia) to elongate. Trauma, inflammatory responses, and/or surgical procedures create Myofascial restrictions that can produce tensile pressures of approximately 2,000 pounds per square inch on pain sensitive structures that do not show up in many of the standard tests (x-rays, myelograms, CAT scans, electromyography, etc.) The use of Myofascial Release allows us to look at each patient as a unique individual. Our one-on-one therapy sessions are hands-on treatments during which our therapists use a multitude of Myofascial Release techniques and movement therapy. We promote independence through education in proper body mechanics and movement, self treatment instruction, enhancement of strength, improved flexibility, and postural and movement awareness.
