        My journey began with a BS degree in Kinesiology with over 10 years in Athletic Training. My intentions were to continue my career as an Athletic Trainer and move to the DFW.  It was two weeks before moving to the DFW, I get into a car accident.         My journey began with a BS degree in Kinesiology with over 10 years in Athletic Training. My intentions were to continue my career as an Athletic Trainer and move to the DFW.  It was two weeks before moving to the DFW, I get into a car accident. A friend of mine told me that a massage would help me with my pain and injuries.  Within a week after my arrival to the Dallas area,  I booked a massage from a place called ATI. which so happen to be apart of a massage school. I met one of the Instructors and told her how impressed I was with my results. She  informed me about becoming a massage therapist myself.  From then, I enrolled and 6 months later became a Licensed Massage Therapist. 
   In 2016,  I became an Instructor at the Cortiva Institute and taught there for four years. I now have 11 years of experience as a Licensed Massage Therapist.  My specialties fall under; medical massage, clinical massage and myoskeletal alignment to the basic Swedish  therapeutic modalities.  
  I hope to bring a healing that is more than skin deep here at Body MechaniXs & Well-being. "When your body talks- Healing hands listen!"

Medical Massage Practitioner

In 2016 I worked at Advanced Body Work and Massage, owned by TC Cameron, B.S., Kinesiology. Specializing in Orthopedic/Medical Massage for Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation. While under the tutelage of TC, I completed continuing education courses in medical massage. Medical Massage Therapy is advanced training and experience that allows me to provide care focused on healing injuries, improving function, or increasing circulation.

Advanced Sports Massage

-Effects of Sports Massage on athletes -Stretching and Muscle Energy Techniques (MET) -Advanced Sports Massage Techniques -Learn to recognize postural deviations and pain patterns through postural analysis -General Acute Injury Evaluation - Practical application of a post-event protocol and begin to return range of motion (ROM) to within normal limits (WNL).

In 2016 I became a Massage Therapist Instructor at Texas Center for Massage Therapy now know as Cortiva Institute. As an Instructor for the past four years which, was very rewarding. I was able to see students engaged, excited, and eager to learn what I would teach next. Cortiva Institute taught me that I wasn't just teaching I also helped students change their lives, in return changed my own.

Charlene knows her stuff! She lustens well to undersrand what issues i perceive i have and her hands are perceptive to issues i may have bern choosing to ignore. Very relaxing whike also addressing some specific issues i have with gentle stretches. I highly recommend!
