Selah Healing Arts was named such because the word Selah is a word with no direct literal translation but that can be used to imply a rest in music or poetry. It is also used to represent the concept of "forever". Ruby Buchanan feels that as life forms on this planet, we are all interconnected just as body, mind, and spirit are interconnected. Her goal is to help her clients see their endless potential to heal themselves.

Ruby is the absolute best. She is a genuinely wonderful person and an excellent massage therapist. She's the first person to give me a massage in a professional setting, but even I can tell that she truly knows her craft. I felt like I understood my muscles better and how they're connected with how she worked. She is beyond professional and has a great personality that instantly makes you feel comfortable. She made me feel like a valued client, and went above and beyond before, during, and after the session, which isn't something I can say that I've experienced anywhere else really. I look forward to my next session!

The building is quirky, but that adds to the charm of the experience. The massage took place in a large room that was relaxing and comfortable. I had to take off my shoes at the entrance, which was great because it made the entire space feel cleaner knowing that outside dirt wasn't allowed over a certain point. There was a large carpet, heating, and it was well-ventilated. It was private without outside distractions or other people interrupting the session, and the music was relaxing. It was my first massage experience, and I have to say that I can't imagine going anywhere else.

I came in with neck and upper back pain that had been gradually increasing over the past week. Ruby listened to my description of the issue, asked pertinent questions, then focused her attention on those areas that needed attention. She used a combination of massage and cupping. Not only did the treatment feel wonderful at the time, the pain diminished greatly and 24 hrs later I'm happy to report that I feel 95% better with a single treatment! I'll definitely be back...

Room has a lot going on. Being able to see everything because Ruby works out of one room so understandable just not extremely relaxing to walk into. Ruby was very professional and did such an amazing job. She really focused on the areas I pointed out as problems for me. Ruby's office is in the historic Central Park South Building, which gives it lots of ambiance. The office itself is warm and relaxing...it always makes me feel good just to be there. I find Ruby's work to be quick and professional and she has a way of setting me perfectly at ease. That herbal spray she uses after waxing really makes my skin feel great and I usually don't have a single in-grown hair after the treatment! I do find that the waxing is far less uncomfortable and seems to last longer when I go on a regular basis. Highly recommended!

it was so freaking COLD outside when I got there man my freaking feet were FREEZING and they never really got warm. must be an "old guy" thing?? hahaha and what with the old building and whatnot it just seemed a little "drafty" is all. and then the landlord knocking on the door- but what you gonna do about that??
