CranioSacral Therapy

Performed while the client is fully clothed, CranioSacral Therapy uses a very light touch - about the weight of a nickel. The work is generally seen as very soothing and relaxing. Because of the work's focus on the nervous system, rather than soft tissue, it can be especially effective for treating stress and anxiety related issues. Many clients also report relief from chronic back pain and headaches. This service is offered by Jessica LaGarde.

Pregnancy or Postpartum Massage

Prenatal and postpartum massage are wonderful ways to relax, increase your energy, and relieve discomfort during, and in the months after your pregnancy. Side-lying and semi-reclining positioning will be utilized to enhance comfort and safety for the client and baby, allowing you to experience your changing body in a positive, accepting way. First time clients, please indicate how many weeks pregnant or postpartum you will be on the date of your massage.

I felt very relaxed and experienced much relief during the massage. However, it didn't seem to last. I spent the evening laying on my heating pad, and the pain that I experienced prior to the massage didn't require a heating pad, so I'm not sure what happened to elevate it. In my very first massage with Turtle, by contrast, I remember feeling as though I was walking on a cloud for at least a week. So I was looking forward to that experience, especially on my birthday. Perhaps my body was in overall worse shape preceding this massage than my first experience with Turtle a few months ago, but I don't think that's the case. I did really appreciate Jessica's recommendation of the over head stretch to offer some relief in my shoulders. I do that stretch in my yoga practice every now and then and I always forget how good it feels :)

The thing I love about Shine is that they let you know everything upfront from information, appointment details, policies, and expectations. The table was warmed and the sheets felt marvelous- I almost fell asleep. Room didn’t have a clean feel- trash can within the room contained a used tissue and bandage, which was right beneath the chair that I had to sit my belongings on. There was also an unpleasant garlicky smell during the facial part of my massage. I couldn’t tell if it was from the technicians’ hands or a consequence of the oil used, but it smelled awful. Massage hurt at times, but I take the blame for that as I did not speak up during those moments of pain.

I booked an appointment for 4 people.. Julie and staff were very accommodating. She juggled her schedule around to take all 4 of us in very short notice. I treated my 2 cousins to their first massage ever and they were very pleased. Came out of the room refreshed and a sense of calm and tranquility..We loved every part if our experience with Julie and staff. Would highly recommend this location. Next time im in town, ill definitely be back..
