Smooth stones are heated and then lubricated with oil or essential oils. The therapeutic effects of heat are used to "melt" away muscle stress and address specific problem areas with more detailed work. Used as an extension of the therapist’s hands, the use of massage stones induces deep relaxation and provides a unique experience many find to be tremendously calming and centering.

After graduating from UMass-Lowell, Sheila’s early corporate career was focused on the installation and
support of medical billing and authorization software systems in hospitals and physicians’ offices around
the country. This was followed by a lengthy and rewarding career at a major insurance company in the
“Insurance Capital of the World” – Hartford, CT.
Upon relocating from Connecticut to New Hampshire, Sheila also made the jump from the insurance
side of our healthcare system to wellness. Sheila genuinely wants to help people maintain or improve
their health through massage. She enjoys treating the whole person by considering how all of the body
systems work together. She also enjoys developing trusting relationships so clients feel welcome to
reach out whenever issues, big or small, arise.
Sheila graduated from the New Hampshire Institute for Therapeutic Arts in June 2022. During her ten
month program, she interned with us right here at Chichester Massage & Bodywork Center! We’re so
glad to welcome her back as a peer.
When Sheila isn’t in the Center, you will likely find her in one of three places – in her gym, in the kitchen cooking good food, or on a hike with her husband and two Portuguese Water Dogs – Porter and Pumpkin.

Melissa graduated from The Northeastern Institute of Whole Health in 2018. She has been in the field of self care for many years as a Yoga instructor and felt that massage would be an additional way to help her clients achieve balance of body and mind . Currently she owns a yoga/ fitness studio in Amherst. Previous to that she was an LNA for 13 years. Taking care of others has always been a big part of her life.
Melissa is a loving mom to 4 children. She recently relocated to her childhood home in Northwood. She is very glad to be home and able to start a farm of her own! She loves to garden and has recently been learning to can all of the bounty found on her property. Self sufficiency is the goal!

Three weeks ago I lifted a heavy bucket of dirt and rocks resulting in straining my right arm bicep. The massage was very relaxing as I thought it would be however, the gentle massage really helped relieve the discomfort. Overall, everything was great! I went specifically to try and alleviate some back pain, and my massage therapist took the time to understand my pain, where it was, and customized a treatment just for that. Only negative thing I could say, and this is not something that bothers me, was that you can hear the traffic outside at times. It is not incredibly noticeable, especially with the relaxing music and the experience.
