Touch and horses have been integral parts of my life since I was a little girl. I remember rubbing my mom's feet; snuggling the muzzle of my trusty lesson steed. Then as I got older and working in the food service industry, I remember how much a good shoulder squeeze could do for someone; having a horse that I called my own that needed some alternative treatment for a sore back. These experiences never left me. I chose to attend Centenary College for equine studies. I thought one day this would help me get into the equine massage field. Life happened. I went from working on horse farms and riding professionally, to working at a desk for an agricultural newspaper, and then working as a masonry laborer and learning how to lay brick, block, and stone. Through all of these endeavors, I had some minor aches and pains along with some major injuries. One of these injuries landed me in physical therapy for several months. Once I finished healing, I knew I could not return to my previous career paths. In the middle of one door closing, a window opened and massage school seemed like the natural next step. I have used my experiences of my own physically demanding lifestyle to benefit my clients, so that they may reach their full potential with massage.
I specialize in customized massage for each individual. In combining many different modalities and techniques, my clients are able to receive the maximum benefit for what their body needs. For this reason, I only give time allotments when scheduling. This allows me to truly customize each session be it a relaxation, deep tissue, or something in between. I love being a massage therapist! However, I also know that my scope of practice is limited to soft tissue manipulation. I have a great network of other traditional and alternative professionals which I like to reference when combining treatments for maximum health awareness.
Today, I am fortunate to serve a community that supports my passion. While I still ride horses, and have one to call my own (who has her own massage therapist), massage for the human is my life's calling. My location is convenient from Chestertown and the surrounding areas with privacy that offers a peacefulness and tranquility. I usually book two to three weeks in advance, but occasionally have available time slots within a same week of inquiry. For this reason, I suggest that you call, email, or text me to set up your appointment today! hide
