"I have come that they might have life, and have it more abundantly!" John 10:10

I remember the first batch of wheat grass that I grew and juiced as I began researching nutrition and health.  I was 19, and thought outside of the box... every box.  I began travelling after that year and was interested in different ways of life that were unfamiliar to me here in the Western World.  Among my travels were Switzerland, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Brazil, and Africa.  I found a common 'problem' that I had while travelling... I was SO sensitive.  Sensitive to everything it seemed.  To atmospheres, to climate, to food, to people.  I was overwhelmed with my experiences and was unable to process them.  Upon returning from 3 months in Eastern Africa, I was prepared to begin the process of dealing with my emotions instead of running away from them.  I denied my sensitivity to a fault and didn't understand how I could fit into such a high speed world.  The only way to survive seemed to be to adapt, but I felt that my true self was somehow hiding, and my body was more in touch with this reality than I was.  Our bodies are the exact representation of our souls.  The turmoil I was experiencing expressed itself through dis-function and dis-ease in my body!  WOW.  It seems to be such a simple reality, but how many of us are not in touch with this truth, or are afraid to face it?  When I could go no further, then I was ready for help... for change... for healing.

I miraculously made it through 900 hours of training at HACC's Massage Therapy Program and in the process began to fall in love with bodywork, and also myself.  I found that the other students in the class were a bit 'weird' like me!  And by weird I mean sensitive to the feelings of others and themselves.  It was quite a blast to be myself!  I realized that confidence allows a person to feel safe, and that I was able, by believing and knowing that I was enough, to hold a safe space for my classmates and clients.  I believe people can feel at ease when they know they can be their true selves.

Not only was I encouraged to be 'me' but I also got to explore the complexity, and sheer simplicity, of the human body.  It is incredible and when I saw the wonder of how it all works, I realized that I truly do not 'heal' a person, but I rather reconnect them to the health that exists already.  I got to witness changes in my classmates from my own hands working with their bodies and know that touch is powerful when it is presented safely and with trust and compassion.  Touch affects the human body physiologically and in turn psychologically as well, whether for good or for bad.  I'm an advocate for the good!  The massage therapists' mantra "Do no harm," comes into play here!

With that said, I now get to practice massage therapy, a career that I LOVE.  I am rewarded by the peoples lives I enhance by just being me and doing something I enjoy.

I currently practice at Julie Madeira's Chiropractic Office in Camp Hill, PA.  And also at the new Dillsburg Yoga, in Dillsburg, PA.

My specialties include Swedish, Neuromuscular Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Connective Tissue, and Reflexology!  I am fascinated by reflexology and find it to be very effective and relaxing in addition to the other modalities.  I would be thrilled to assist you in your journey to well-being and health!
