Hello and welcome to my practice! My name is Ahira and I am a NC licensed Massage therapist, dedicated to helping people reduce their stress and tension through therapeutic massage.

What are my credentials? I graduated from Johnston Community College in Smithfield, NC in 2013 with an Associate in Arts and in 2014 earned my diploma in Therapeutic Massage. I am currently doing 2nd year in Therapeutic Massage at the same community college and plan to graduate in June 2017 with an Associate in Applied Science – Therapeutic Massage.

What modalities do I offer? I offer Swedish massage for general relaxation and/or muscle soreness, Deep Tissue massage to promote flexibility and muscle elasticity, hot stone massage for both relaxation, muscle elasticity, and pain-reduction, myofascial release, and trigger-point therapy for pain-reduction and muscle elasticity. Generally, my work focuses on wellness massage – promoting stress-reduction.  I also offer chair massage for events and office-calls.

Where do I work? I currently am available to do house-calls in the counties of Sampson, Harnett, Johnston, and Cumberland. Don’t want to go out of the comfort of your home? No problem. I can come to you. I am also  available at Medical Touch Massage in Clayton, NC and Five Touch Salon in Wilson, NC.

Why did I choose massage therapy as my career? For the past 6 years, I had the privilege of working at North Carolina Farmworkers Project, a nonprofit organization, that helps farm workers in getting access to healthcare. In the last couple of years working at the nonprofit, I had the opportunity to use my therapeutic massage skills to serve some people from this community. The experience allowed me to see first-hand that massage was an opportunity to help people with muscular-skeletal problems that indicate massage.

Most people see massage as an unnecessary expense. But I invite you to change this mentality. Therapeutic massage is about reducing the stress and tension your body may carry in excess. It's about helping you taking the first steps to restoring your body towards good health. Instead of seeing massage as a luxury, think of it as an investment in your health and in your future.
