I graduated from The Soma Institute in 2006 in Clinical Massage therapy. I have an extensive background in nursing care as a certified nursing assistant. I specialized in the care of elderly with dementia working in-home and in nursing homes. I am also experienced in oncology care. I was studying Nursing but soon realized massage was my true passion. I have over 12 years of experience in wellness and therapeutic massage.

I believe relaxation is just as important as clinical work because when you relax, your muscles relax. This is why I combine modalities of calmness and detailed muscle and attachment work to relieve your mind, body, and spirit.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release is a manipulative treatment that attempts to release tension in the fascia due to trauma, posture, or inflammation. Connective tissues called fascia that surrounds the muscles, bones, nerves, and organs of the body.

Sports Massage

Sports massage goes beyond promoting relaxation and pain relief. It can help improve performance and prevent injury - in addition to helping the body recover from injuries associated with physical activity. Sports can be repetitive, especially for runners, cyclists, racquet sports players, and weightlifters.

Reiki

A healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional well-being.

Cupping Methods

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is a lighter to medium pressure massage that involves the use of hands, forearms or elbows to manipulate the superficial layers of the muscles to improve mental and physical health.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronic aches and pains and contracted areas such as stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders. We combine this modality with Trigger Point Therapy which we treat the source of the pain.

Orthopedic Massage Therapy

Pioneered by Dr. Ben E. Benjamin. The therapeutic techniques that help reduce and eliminate pain produced by adhesive scar tissue formed from soft tissue injury. Helping people cope with and overcome the pain and stress caused by injury to the body.

She took a personal interest in who I was and why I was there, not just the pain issue itself. She is caring and uses relaxing techniques to get the body to come down and release stress. She is good at her job.

I just had a great experience with Jess at PalmLeaf Massage Clinic! The detail work she did was amazing! While Jess worked on my whole body, at my request she customized my session to primarily tune in on my shoulders and upper back. She found every unhappy muscle and even the TINY elusive ones! She has a very skillful and caring touch. (Found out later that she has over 14 years of experience.) Jess loosened up my shoulders and made my computer work pain free!
