State Licensed LMT, Board Certified by the National Association of Trigger Point Therapists and the American Academy of Rehabilitation and Fitness Professionals. In 2014, I completed a certification by the Department of Defense to better my understanding of working with Veterans, Active Duty and their families. My specialties are Swedish Massage and Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy, however I do include other techniques into the sessions.
I attended Career Training Academy for Massage Therapy. The day after I graduated from CTA, I began advanced studies at The Pittsburgh School of Pain Management. I studied intensively for one year learning that complaints in the musculoskeletal system usually have multiple causes responsible for the total picture. I have been well trained in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, very skilled palpation skills and how to recognize perpetuating factors to eliminate the cause of the pain, not just alleviating it. Typically, clients pain presents with a composite pattern referred from several muscles. This is where I use my investigative skills to track down the specific stress or stress(s) that initiate the trigger points but also additional factors which may be perpetuating them. hide
