Always being that friend who starts to massage your shoulders, I was still surprised when someone said "you should be a massage therapist!" I am so glad that I looked into massage therapy seriously soon after that.
I chose the Academy of Massage Therapy and Bodyworks in Pottstown PA for my education, noting that it had the feel of being a second family. The classes were small and provided hours of practice and of individual attention to take my massage to the highest possible levels. We studied Swedish, deep tissue and myofascial release the most intensely, with introductions to other methods. I look forward to certification in multiple modalities, and will update my profile as I accomplish them. The first class I am taking after licensure is in oncology massage practice, and I hope to provide comfort and aid treatment for those battling cancer and it's recovery.
Aromatherapy is added to my massage treatment for clients who like it, at no additional charge to you. If you love the effect of the essential oils, I am a Young Living Essential Oil member and will be happy to tell you how to purchase the oils and how to use them.
Above all, I value your input before, during and after the massage. What do you want from your massage? How does it feel during the treatment? What do you experience afterward? How can I make it better? Please don't hold back. I have the training, but you know your body. I know that and I honor it. I hope you do, too.
