Laura Sicari is a licensed acupuncturist with over a decade
of study and training in acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, yoga,
meditation, and other healing modalities. She currently holds a Master of
Acupuncture degree from Maryland University of Integrative Health (formerly the
Tai Sophia Institute) and will complete her Master of Oriental Medicine degree
in Spring 2017; the Master of Oriental Medicine advances Laura’s understanding
of Chinese herbal medicines and makes her healing practice more comprehensive
and dynamic. Her treatments incorporate her expertise as an acupuncturist and
herbalist, along with her skills as a yoga instructor. She finalized her yoga
training at the Sivananda ashram in Orleans, France and has continued her
intensive meditation studies in the Nyingma and Kagyu lineages of Tibetan
Buddhism.
Laura has worked in variety of clinical and private care
settings, including the Integrative Health Center in Timonium, MD, the Penn-North
Community Center in West Baltimore, as well as various yoga and meditation
retreats. As the sole proprietor and practitioner for Sicari Healing Arts, Laura
employs a variety of methods, honed through her training and her own life
experiences, to suit each patient’s unique needs. Her interests and passions
include women’s health, addiction recovery, as well as spiritual and mental
health and well-being. Her work as an actor, aerialist, movement artist and
lover of poetry, gives rise to her belief that fully inhabiting and loving our
bodies is essential to health.
