A licensed massage therapist and Reiki master for over a decade, I have a passion for the healing art of massage and bodywork.  I came into massage as a career quite naturally but in a round-about way.  I earned my Bachelor's degree in Communication from Loyola University in Chicago in 1994.  While I was personally proud of that accomplishment, I was left feeling a void in my ability to enhance the lives of others the way I envisioned it.  Of course, feeling "stuck" in sales and administrative jobs didn't help.  I longed for a career in which I could impact others while helping them towards feeling better. My long-time interest in natural health and yoga led me to consider becoming a massage therapist.
I received my training from Academy of Somatic Healing Arts (ASHA School of Massage), graduating in 2005.  Along the way, I became certified in Thai Yoga Bodywork, which allowed me to combine my love iof stretching and yoga with my new professional massage skills. can say without hesitation that becoming an LMT was one of the best decisions of my life.  I believed in the holistic training I received at ASHA (including Nutrition, Mind & Body Integration and more than 200 hours in Neuromuscular Therapy) so much that I spent eight years with the school in the Admissions department! Now massaging full-time, I have been able assist countless clients with pain and stress relief as well as incorporating vital wellness-based skills (addressing postural dysfunction, providing specific stretching, and deep breathing technique, just to name a few) to their lifestyles.  I love what I do and I love how it makes people feel! My clients are treated to customized sessions based on their specific complaint or concern as well as their activity and stress level. Most clients notice the benefits after their first session and commit to adding massages from me into their wellness regime. Contact me today to experience a unique, relaxing, massage  mini-vacation for yourself. Chances are, you deserve it!

She assessed my needs in a professional and caring manner, worked diligently to resolve those issues, and provide helpful advice for better care until the next visit. I have been a long time customer, and I will 100% keep coming back. Shelley rocks!!

Shelley really listens to me about issues I'm having and does her work accordingly. She's very strong with the deep tissue/stretch massage, and has managed to get some small kinks out and help address an onging mysterious issue with my lower back/QL. She has good ideas of things I can do outside of our visits, and I value her opinion. She's also has a great 'bedside' manner that combines humor, professionalism, expertise and friendliness.

Shelley is truly a master of her practice! She took the time to listen to my story and why I was coming to her for massage therapy. She tailored the experience specifically to address my issue. I was walking on air after the appointment. Best massage experience I have had in years.
