A licensed massage therapist and Reiki master for over a decade, I have a passion for the healing art of massage and bodywork.  I came into massage as a career quite naturally but in a round-about way.  I earned my Bachelor's degree in Communication from Loyola University in Chicago in 1994.  While I was personally proud of that accomplishment, I was left feeling a void in my ability to enhance the lives of others the way I envisioned it.  Of course, feeling "stuck" in sales and administrative jobs didn't help.  I longed for a career in which I could impact others while helping them towards feeling better. My long-time interest in natural health and yoga led me to consider becoming a massage therapist.
I received my training from Academy of Somatic Healing Arts (ASHA School of Massage), graduating in 2005.  Along the way, I became certified in Thai Yoga Bodywork, which allowed me to combine my love iof stretching and yoga with my new professional massage skills. can say without hesitation that becoming an LMT was one of the best decisions of my life.  I believed in the holistic training I received at ASHA (including Nutrition, Mind & Body Integration and more than 200 hours in Neuromuscular Therapy) so much that I spent eight years with the school in the Admissions department! Now massaging full-time, I have been able assist countless clients with pain and stress relief as well as incorporating vital wellness-based skills (addressing postural dysfunction, providing specific stretching, and deep breathing technique, just to name a few) to their lifestyles.  I love what I do and I love how it makes people feel! My clients are treated to customized sessions based on their specific complaint or concern as well as their activity and stress level. Most clients notice the benefits after their first session and commit to adding massages from me into their wellness regime. Contact me today to experience a unique, relaxing, massage  mini-vacation for yourself. Chances are, you deserve it!

Shelley’s massage technique leaves you feeling like a new person. Pressure points, stretching and feeling relaxed is everything that I need. I look forward to what I call my “wellness hour “ each month.

Asks questions to assess your needs and changes in your body before each session. Her skills and experience allow her to comprehensively address those needs using multiple techniques. You'll leave with sound advice on preventive measures to manage ongoing issues. Her warm and welcoming presence complements her professional skills to make the NMT experience fantastic.

I've been getting massages from Shelley for four years and always have a great experience. She is a very gifted masseuse and energy worker, following her intuition when she works with people. I always leave feeling so much better, with less tension, and gain relief from my time with her.

Shelley is an amazing intuitive body healer. Even though I am blessed to not have aches and pains, she magically assesses your body's needs and finds those muscles that you never know you needed attention! A true healer!
